What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method of permanent hair removal. During a session I use a small, fine probe that is inserted into the hair follicle (a natural opening in the skin). Energy is then applied to the probe, which destroys the hair growth nutrients, preventing future hair growth in that follicle. However, it takes several sessions for permanent results because the cycle of hair growth. (a more in-depth explanation is discussed at your consultation). Electrolysis can be preformed on any part of the body and is suitable for people of all skin and hair types. It is considered the only true permanent hair removal method compared to other methods such as tweezing, waxing, and laser hair removal which only temporarily reduce the growth of hair.
What are the electrolysis modalities?
Electrolysis has three different modalities to offer. Think of Electrolysis as an umbrella term and under it are the three modalities. Electrolysis, Thermolysis, and Blend method. Permanent hair removal can be achieved by all three options. Electrolysis uses a chemical reaction to treat unwanted hairs. Thermolysis uses a heat reaction to treat unwanted hairs. Blend method is a combination of heat and chemical reaction. It is important to note one method is not better than the other they all achieve the same permanent results. I am equipped with the knowledge and machine to offer all three modalities. When it comes to determining which method would work best for you many variables come into play. I consider all of those variables and select the best option for you based on your skin and hairs.
